Core Beliefs

The Bible
The Bible is God's revelation to man and is the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and action. It was written by human authors under the divine guidance of the Holy Spirit. Because it was inspired by God, it is without error.

2 Timothy 3:16-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 119:105; Psalm 119:160; Psalm 12:6; Proverbs 30:5; Isaiah 55:11

The Father
God has shown himself to be the eternally self-existent "I AM," the Creator of heaven and earth as well as the Redeemer of mankind. As Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, he has shown himself as embodying the concepts of relationship and association.

2 Timothy 3:16-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 119:105; Psalm 119:160; Psalm 12:6; Proverbs 30:5; Isaiah 55:11

The Son
Jesus Christ is God's everlasting Son. He shares equal standing with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Jesus lived a spotless human life and died on the cross as the ideal sacrifice for all people's sins.

2 Timothy 3:16-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 119:105; Psalm 119:160; Psalm 12:6; Proverbs 30:5; Isaiah 55:11

The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit’s presence assures us of our relationship with Christ. He guides believers into all truth and exalts Christ. He convicts people of their sin, God’s righteousness, and the coming judgment. He comforts us, gives us spiritual gifts, and makes us more like Christ.

Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4, Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31; Acts 8:12-17; Acts 10:44-46; Acts 11:14-16; Acts 15:7-9; John 7:37-39; Acts 4:8; Acts 2:42-43; Hebrews 12:28; Mark 16:20

Man
Man was formed in the image of God. Man was created to have fellowship with God but became separated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. Our natures become sinful because of the original sin. Because of his wickedness, sinful man is prone to serve his own desires rather than God's.

Psalm 36:1; Jeremiah 17:9; Genesis 1:26,27; 2:17; 3:6; Romans 5:12-19

Salvation
Man’s only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God. This provides the only way of salvation through the forgiveness of sin. Salvation is a gift from God, and it cannot be earned through our own efforts.

Mark 1:15; Mark 3:19, Mark 16:31; John 3:16; Luke 24:47; John 3:3; Romans 10:13-15; Ephesians 2:8; Titus 2:11; 3:5-7; Romans 8:16; Ephesians 4:24; Titus 2:12

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit
All believers are entitled to and should eagerly anticipate and actively pursue the Father's promise, the baptism of the Holy Spirit and fire. It brings with it the gift of power for life and service, as well as the bestowal of gifts and their use in ministry activity.

Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4, Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31; Acts 8:12-17; Acts 10:44-46; Acts 11:14-16; Acts 15:7-9; John 7:37-39; Acts 4:8; Acts 2:42-43; Hebrews 12:28; Mark 16:20

The Church and its Mission
The Church is the body of Christ, the dwelling of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments to carry out the Great Commission. Each believer who has been born of the Spirit is a vital element of the church.
